New Notice for wine recognised agencies and persons

Have your say

As part of the Ministry for Primary Industries' (MPI’s) work in the wine assurance programme, MPI is proposing to revoke the Wine Notice – Notice for wine recognised agencies and persons.

A new notice has been drafted for consultation. Changes include:

  • extending temporary recognition of agencies to 1 July 2018
  • some minor formatting and clarification changes.

Temporary recognition of agencies in the current wine notice ends on 1 July 2017. If MPI does not amend this Notice, there will be no recognised agencies (including verifiers belonging to those agencies) to verify wine standards management plans.

Consultation documents

Background to consultation

It has always been MPI’s intention to align requirements for wine recognised agencies and persons with requirements for recognised agencies and persons under the Food Act 2014. Food Act requirements for agencies and persons are now in place so the proposed extension for temporary recognition of agencies will allow sufficient time for work (including consultation) to progress the alignment of Wine and Food Act requirements.
