Forestry ETS Form - Participant Deregistration

Purpose of form

To enable a registered participant to completely withdraw from the Emissions Trading Scheme with respect to post-1989 forest land activity.

When to use this form

To deregister voluntarily, or because all post-1989 forest land associated with a registered participant has become ineligible to remain in the ETS (e.g. through deforestation).

Who should use this form

A registered participant with post-1989 forest land.

Information you need to complete the form

  • the name and contact details of the applicant(s);
  • participant name and holding account number;

Subsequent Obligations

Participants must file an Emissions Return (Unit Reconciliation) within 20 working days. The participant will have an obligation to surrender units in respect of the removed post-1989 forest land.

Options for submitting form

You can submit a post-1989 participant deregistration form by printing, completing and sending the form Participant Deregistration to MPI by postal mail.
