The targeted aerial spraying operation against the painted apple moth in west Auckland
which started at first light this morning has been called off because of a minor technical
The spray equipment filters were blocking during the first few runs so the helicopter
has returned to base the strip and clean the equipment.
Because as predicted, the wind is rising, it's unlikely that there will be any more
spraying today. However, tomorrow's forecast looks promising.
This morning parts of Traherne Island which runs alongside the north-western motorway
was the only area sprayed.
