The Animal Products Act 1999 (APA) requires animal product1 intended for export with an official assurance to remain in the ‘Risk Management Programme (RMP) chain’. The verification of RMP premises is what gives our certifiers the confidence that product meets regulatory requirements. When product intended for export falls outside of this ‘RMP chain’ it is considered out of verifiable control and hence loses its eligibility for official assurances.
