Further legislation on poultry processing and food safety
As well as the Animal Products Act (APA) 1999 and the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) code, poultry processors may need to follow legislation administered by other government departments.
It may include:
- Animal Welfare Act 1999
- Biosecurity Act 1993
- Building Act 2004
- Commerce Act 1986
- Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
- Fair Trading Act 1986
- Food Act 2014
- Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996
- Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992
- Resource Management Act 1991.
