Government goals for land use and fresh water
In May 2018, the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister for the Environment presented Cabinet with 3 papers setting out their goals for:
- restoring freshwater and waterways
- a new approach to the Crown/Māori relationship for freshwater
- sustainable high-value land use.

The sustainable high-value land use paper provides a snapshot in time, but the work is fast-paced. In some areas, work has already progressed beyond the details outlined in the paper.
