Becoming a recognised agency or person to verify wine businesses

You need to be a recognised person or agency to verify businesses subject to wine standards management plans (WSMPs). Find out what you need to do to become a recognised agency or person under the Wine Act 2003.

Why you need to be recognised

Wine-making businesses need to comply with the law. Private agencies or individuals can have a regulatory role, checking compliance on behalf of the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI).

The recognition process makes sure agencies or individuals meet the standards that we would apply if we were doing the checks ourselves.

How to become recognised

Follow the steps for agencies or for individuals.
