Retrospective analysis was performed for CRA 2 and CRA 4. Data in the terminal (1 to 10) years were removed. No strong systematic biases in key model outputs were found for either of the stocks considered when removing all data sets. When removing only the catch per unit of effort (CPUE), the model outputs were not significantly different for up to 5 years removals. The results of stock assessments missing CPUE data can therefore still be used as a basis for management advice for several years.
The purpose of this paper was to seek your approval for a temporary closure of the waters around Waiheke Island to the harvest of scallops, mussels, rock lobster and pāua.

The fisheries taking FLA 7 are described for 1989–90 to 2018–19, based on commercial catch and effort data. FLA 7 includes up to 14 species, with 4 species predominating. Standardised catch per unit effort analyses were conducted on the FLA 7 species complex and on the 4 prevalent species. The species analyses were used to evaluate status relative to agreed levels, with 3 of the 4 species near to or above the agreed level while the remaining species was below the agreed level and was overfished.
