Up to Australian amendment No. 176. Effective 26 February 2018. Includes adoption of Food Standards Code, amendments relating to a genetically modified potato and canola, and a new enzyme as a processing aid in bakery products. Excludes Amendment 169 for hemp seed products which requires changes to NZ law before it can be adopted.

This amendment to the Food (Tutin in Honey) Standard 2010 is issued pursuant to section 11L of the Food Act 1981, for the purpose of clarifying the intended effect of compliance option 2 in the principal standard.

The Ministry for Primary Industries commenced targeted consultation on 1 December 2015 on a proposal to issue an emergency food standard to impose certain requirements on imported frozen berry fruits. The consultation was focussed on major businesses that import, pack and sell frozen berry fruits. Certain government departments were also consulted.
