19 August 2024 – Transitional period extended for fresh pineapple consignments from the Philippines and Thailand
The final import health standard for importing fresh pineapple for human consumption was released 22 February 2024.
To ensure uninterrupted trade during the current import season, MPI has determined that pineapple consignments from the Philippines and Thailand certified under previous pineapple standards can receive clearance at the New Zealand border until 31 October 2024.

22 February 2024 – Final import health standard released
We’ve released the final import health standard for importing fresh pineapple for human consumption.
To ensure uninterrupted trade during the current import season, MPI has determined that pineapple consignments from specific countries certified under previous pineapple standards can receive clearance at the New Zealand border until 22 August 2024.

29 August 2023 – Final import health standard released
We've amendment the import health standard schedule for fresh pear from Australia.
To ensure uninterrupted trade during the current import season, MPI has determined that pear consignments from Australia certified under the previous standard, can receive clearance at the New Zealand border until 29 February 2024.
