Draft Wine Notice: Notice for Wine Recognised Agencies and Persons 2014

MPI periodically asks for feedback on food safety issues that affect consumers and the food industry. You can make a submission (by post, email or fax) before the closing date. MPI analyses all submissions and considers how they might be included in final decisions.

MPI is seeking submissions from interested parties on a draft Wine Notice issued under the Wine Act 2003. The proposed legislation aims to set requirements for agencies and persons that are recognised or wish to become recognised for performing verification functions and activities specified under the Wine Act 2003.

This Notice extends the timeframe for temporary recognition under Clause 7 to 1 July 2017 instead of 1 July 2014 in the Wine (Recognised Agencies and Persons) Notice 2010. Ultimately, final recognition requirements for agencies will b e considered and consulted on before being decided upon before inclusion in subsequent versions of this Notice.

You will notice the format of this Notice is different to that of the previous Notice. These changes are based on MPI’s use of new templates for Standards – which includes Notices.

MPI analyses all submissions and considers how they might be included in final decisions.
