Proposal for an in-season increase to the Total Allowable Catch for Flatfish 3

What's being proposed

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) seeks feedback on a proposal  to increase the total allowable catch (TAC) for Flatfish in the South Island East Coast (FLA 3) for the remainder of the 2015/16 fishing year. The proposal includes increases to the recreational and customary Māori allowances and an increase to the annual catch entitlement (ACE) for commercial fishing. The increases would be in place until 30 September 2016.

Written submissions in response to this proposal will be incorporated into advice and recommendations that will be provided to the Minister for Primary Industries in May 2016.

Any submission you make becomes public information. Anyone can ask for copies of all submissions under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). The OIA says we must make the information available unless we have a good reason for withholding it. You can find those grounds in sections 6 and 9 of the OIA.
