The predominance of pasture in the diet of ruminants in New Zealand presents specific challenges for mitigation of methane generation, but also opportunities for some unique solutions.This report presents the findings of a study conducted to test the antimethanogenic potential of saprophytic and endophytic fungi as some evidence suggests that pasture-related fungi may reduce methane production.
