The New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has drafted a Craft Risk Management Standard (CRMS) to manage the risks along the aircraft pathway under section 24F(2) of the Biosecurity Act (1993).
The CRMS for Aircraft from All Countries specifies the requirements that must be met by all aircraft arriving in New Zealand from a foreign country or territory. These requirements can be carried out either off-shore, on-route or on-arrival in New Zealand.
MPI must consult with interested parties before issuing a CRMS in accordance with section 24F(3) of the Biosecurity Act (1993) and MPI’s consultation policy.
