Animal product notice and summary of submissions
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has issued the Animal Products Notice: Export Requirements for Official Devices. It consolidates all requirements regarding supply and use of official devices into a single notice issued under the Animal Products Act 1999. The notice clarifies the current requirements and includes a number of changes to increase the robustness of the controls around official devices, and accommodates the use of operator seals on Official Assurances. About this consultation
New Zealand Food Safety proposed further amendments to the proposed Animal Products Notice: Export Requirements for Official Devices.
The notice was initially consulted on from 25 October until 6 December 2019.
The latest amendments were to update the proposed requirements around the use of:
- approved container seals and operator seals
- carton strapping and plastic strap seals.

Submissions are public information
Note, that any submission you make becomes public information. People can ask for copies of submissions under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). The OIA says we have to make submissions available unless we have good reasons for withholding them. That is explained in sections 6 and 9 of the OIA.
