Buying, selling, or inheriting forest land in the ETS
When you buy, sell, or inherit forest land there may be things you need to do in the ETS. If you don’t complete certain tasks, you may receive a penalty or infringement notice.
When post-1989 forest land in the ETS changes ownership or agreements over the land change
Find out how ETS registration is affected when post-1989 land is sold or inherited, if a forestry right or leaseholder agreement ends or changes, or members of a trust change.
Forestry rights and leases in the ETS
Forest land with a registered forestry right or lease over it can be registered in the ETS. This land can be registered by the landowner, or the forestry right or leaseholder. Responsibilities in the ETS can change when ownership, forestry rights, or lease agreements change. You need to tell us when these responsibilities change.
