Requirement documents for importing semen and embryos
The requirement documents for importing semen and embryos from dogs, cattle, sheep and goats, deer, llamas and alpacas, bees, horses, pigs and zebra.
Cattle
A new bovine germplasm IHS was issued on 25 August 2021. The new IHS combines the bovine semen IHS and the bovine embryo IHS. However, we’re allowing an 8-month transition to the new IHS (until 25 April 2022) to allow time for the negotiation of new veterinary certificates. The new certificates will be loaded as ‘related’ documents to the bovine germplasm IHS once they are agreed. You can view related documents by expanding the document box by selecting the plus (+) sign. The requirements in the new certificates can be used upon agreement.
Existing import requirements for bovine semen and embryos will remain in effect until the transitional arrangement expires on 25 April 2022.
Horses
The country specific negotiated certificates under the Import Health Standard: Semen and Embryos from Horses (Equidae) are available for use until new veterinary certificates have been renegotiated with those countries under the Import Health Standard: Semen and Embryos from Equids.
