Biosecurity – it's everyone's business. Join the conversation.
The Ministry for Primary Industries will be holding 6 hui and public meetings around the country during August and September, to give New Zealanders the opportunity to join a national conversation about managing biosecurity risks to New Zealand.
At the meetings New Zealanders will be asked their views about how all New Zealanders can work together to keep New Zealand free from pests and diseases, because our lifestyles, our livelihoods, our environment, and the growth of our nation depend on it.
The meetings follow the launch last week of the Biosecurity 2025 discussion document by the Minister for Primary Industries, Nathan Guy, which included the release of a public discussion document and invitations to New Zealanders to get involved in the biosecurity conversation.
The hui and public meetings will be in 6 centres and will run from 17 August to 1 September. Public submissions on the discussion document close 9 September 2016.
Media are also welcome to attend.
