The challenge of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture requires a global strategic approach and cooperation between international research programmes. To this end, New Zealand, through the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), has committed NZ$1.6million to a multi-partner call on agricultural greenhouse gas (GHG) research through the Joint Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (FACCE – JPI). The call brings together excellent research consortia to enhance international collaboration in the face of the global issue of climate change mitigation across 11 countries of FACCE – JPI as well as Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
The application process in New Zealand consists of four steps:
- Step 1: the nominated project coordinator has to electronically submit the Letter of Intent (LoI) using the online JPI submission tool. The deadline for LoI submission is the 27.03.2013, 15:00 Central European Summer Time (CEST).
- Step 2: successful LoIs will be invited to submit a more detailed full proposal. The deadline for Full Proposal submission is the 03.09.2013, 15:00 CEST.
