Honey and bee product organisations
Find out about organisations representing all industry sectors for honey and bee products in New Zealand.
Apiculture New Zealand (ApiNZ)
ApiNZ is the main industry body for apiculture in New Zealand, representing all sectors of the industry. Its mission is to support and deliver benefit to the New Zealand apiculture industry. It does this by promoting a positive industry profile and business environment and by creating opportunities for members. It advocates on behalf of members on a range of issues affecting the apiculture industry.
In 2016 the National Beekeepers Association (NBA) was restructured and renamed Apiculture New Zealand (ApiNZ) to better meet the needs of its members and the wider industry. This restructuring included a rebranding to reflect its broad membership: NZ beekeepers, NZ honey packers and exporters, the Bee Products Standards Council, and industry-related supply companies.
ApiNZ also manages an agency which administers the National American Foulbrood Pest Management Plan and has a website dedicated to this.
