In July 2023, we held another consultation on proposed changes to the low slope map.

Proposed changes regarding the low slope map

About this consultation

This was a joint consultation run by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) and the Ministry for the Environment.

As part of the Resource Management (Stock Exclusion) Regulations 2020, we introduced a map that identified low slope land across New Zealand. Feedback identified that the mapping methodology needed improving. We asked for your feedback on proposed changes to the current map.

All information about the proposed changes, the consultation document, and how to make a submission were on the Ministry for the Environment's (MfE's) website.

Related consultation

We also consulted on freshwater farm plan regulations. Details about the consultation and how to make a submission were on MfE's website. Submissions for both consultations closed on 7 October 2021.
