Your premises may need to be added to a country list so that you can export to that market. This will depend on the market and product. To apply, you will need to:
The country listing approval process for some markets can take a long time. It is a good idea to start the application process as early as possible because it could take many months. Your site verifier can provide guidance on typical time frames.
Remember, as well as country listing requirements, there are other requirements you need to meet before you can export. This includes meeting New Zealand food safety standards and requirements set by overseas markets.
Requirements are different for each market and product. These are specified in overseas market access requirements (OMARs). There is a different OMAR for each market.
For some markets, you need to get your premises approved. This will be stated in the OMAR. Approved premises appear on a country list.
Search OMARs by country/market: animal products, wine, and organics
You'll need to apply for access to view OMAR documents because they are password protected.
Information in OMARs changes regularly. Subscribe to email updates to follow any changes to your market requirements. The subscribing category for OMARs is "Animal products exports (including dairy)".
Find the application form for your product, or the market you want to export to. The OMAR documents will tell you what application form you need.

Complete the first section of the application form and send this to your site verifier. Don't complete the MPI Approvals Service Charge section until your verification agency has approved the application.
Your verification agency will need to assess your application before you submit it to MPI. This may require a site visit and/or an audit, depending on the listing requirements of the market.
Once your verification agency has finalised their assessment, the form will be returned to you as approved for submission to MPI.
After you receive the approved application form, pay the MPI Approvals service charge and fill out the MPI Approvals Service Charge section of the application form.
