We want to connect with you about the Emissions Trading Scheme and its opportunities for Māori forestry. On this page we will:
- share with you information about forestry and the ETS as it relates to Māori interests

The information and education we provide will help you understand changes to the legislation and the context for how the ETS system works overall.
Connect with us via Zui (Zoom hui)
One of the main ways we want to connect with you is via our ongoing zui (Zoom hui). These are online events. We recognise kanohi ki te kanohi (face-to-face) as a preferred way of interacting and discussing things. Based on feedback, we are finding zui are a practical and cost effective way of having interactive discussions. COVID-19 has forced this upon us all, but for the most part online hui are helping us carry out important discussions with you regionally and nationally.
We are recording our zui sessions, so you can review the information any time.
Events will often require online registration. We will send out registration links to the events as they are set up. To sign up for event invitations, email email@example.com

The Canopy website was developed by Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service to help people discover the environmental and economic benefits of planting trees.
Within Canopy, Ngahere Māori supports Māori landowners to see if planting trees is right for their whenua. The Ngahere Māori Emissions Trading Scheme page has more information about the scheme.
