Hon Damien O'Connor

Minister of Agriculture and Minister for Biosecurity, Food Safety, and Rural Communities

Hon Damien O'Connor’s background in farming and adventure tourism drives his view that we need well-paid, sustainable jobs, and industry growth to improve our future.

He is a passionate advocate for rural communities and for a thriving agricultural sector.

Damien was first elected to Parliament in 1993 and has served as a minister in both the 5th and 6th Labour Governments.

Minister of Fisheries

Minister Stuart Nash is the Labour Member of Parliament for the Napier electorate. In 2017 he was sworn in as Minister of Police, Fisheries, Revenue and Small Business.

As a businessman and a politician, Stuart knows we must be innovative to achieve a sustainable global competitive advantage.

He entered politics with the aim of truly making a difference by sharing his skills, experience and passion.





Hon Shane Jones

Shane Jones is a List MP based in Kerikeri. He was Ambassador for Pacific Economic Development and a Member of Parliament from 2005 to 2014. During his 9 years in Parliament, he held several ministerial portfolios.

He has a long history of involvement in the fisheries sector and New Zealand’s Māori fisheries settlement. Shane Jones was born in Awanui, Northland, and his Māori tribal links are to Te Aupouri, Ngai Takoto.
