Sustainable Food & Fibre Futures

Sustainable Food & Fibre Futures invests to grow New Zealand's food and fibre sectors sustainably and support a thriving economy.

We're launching in October

We are developing Sustainable Food & Fibre Futures now, so that it is ready for applications from October.

We've got a lot of experience and expertise from our many years of operating the Sustainable Farming Fund (SFF) and the Primary Growth Partnership (PGP), so we're starting from a good foundation.

We're taking the best of both SFF and PGP

The new Sustainable Food & Fibre Futures lets us take the best of the Ministry for Primary Industries' flagship investment programmes – SFF and PGP – and create a new future-focused programme.

The broad areas we will be investing in

We'll expect applications for investment from Sustainable Food & Fibre Futures to focus on:

  • demonstrating or delivering economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits
  • prioritising product value over volume
  • collaboration and greater information sharing.
