Codes of animal welfare

Codes of welfare set out the minimum standards and recommended best practices for their care. The codes are part of the Animal Welfare Act 1999.

You need to be familiar with the codes that apply to the animals on your farm or operation and follow the minimum standards, to ensure their health and welfare.
