The operational code was updated to align with current legislation, following the redesign of the regulations under the Animal Products Act 1999 and the most recent update to the Production, Supply, and Processing Notice.

New Zealand Food Safety has published a supplier declaration for processor-approved hunters. The supplier declaration has been updated to align with changes to the Animal Products Notice: Production, Supply and Processing.
The supplier declaration for farmed mammals for pet food has been revoked. Suppliers are now required to use the Animal Status Declaration.
A new Poison Use Statement was issued in March, replacing the previous statements for Human Consumption and Petfood.
Feedback indicated that it was unclear who the responsible person must be notified of any changes. The statement has been updated to clarify that the responsible person must notify the hunter of any changes.
Poison Use Statements signed in March and April, using the March version, will remain valid for 3 months from the signing date, unless replaced.
