Benefits of being a Biosecurity Business Pledge member
The Biosecurity Business Pledge is a member organisation that helps businesses understand and manage biosecurity risks.
It brings businesses, industry organisations, science partners and Biosecurity New Zealand together to share information, tools and practical approaches that can strengthen biosecurity practices across their organisations and supply chains.
Many biosecurity risks are linked to business activities such as trade, freight, logistics, travel, procurement and supply chains. By understanding and managing these risks, businesses can help protect New Zealand's environment, economy and way of life from pests and diseases, while strengthening their own resilience and continuity.
The pledge operates as a pre-competitive network, where members work together on shared biosecurity challenges while continuing to compete in other areas.
Members commit to:
- understanding and managing the biosecurity risks associated with their activities
- promoting proactive biosecurity management across their organisation
- considering biosecurity when selecting goods, travel, logistics and service providers
- helping staff, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders understand good biosecurity practice.
Members can access:
- a network of organisations working together to improve biosecurity outcomes
- biosecurity information, updates and insights into emerging risks
- member forums, online learning sessions, and practical resources
- opportunities to share knowledge and experience with other members
- guidance to strengthen biosecurity practices across business operations and supply chains.
