The National Fisheries Plan for Highly Migratory Species (HMS) provides the framework for the management of HMS fisheries in New Zealand waters as well as for New Zealand’s advocacy for management of HMS internationally. This annual operational plan describes the management actions identified for the July 2016-June 2017 financial year, including delivery on the management and operational objectives contained in the National Plan, and the services required to support delivery of the plan.
