Download FAR 2019/27: The length and age composition of the commercial trawl catch of blue mackerel in EMA 7 during the 2017–18 fishing year

Estimates of catch-at-length and catch-at-age for blue mackerel (Scomber australasicus) taken mainly as bycatch in the 2017–18 commercial midwater trawl fishery for jack mackerels in EMA 7 are presented. Five years of catch-at-age estimates for the EMA 7 trawl catch are summarised. Distributions are markedly variable, with earlier years comprising primarily adult fish and 2017–18 mainly juvenile fish.
