This report contains the results of four studies designed to support the review of the National Plan of Action − Sharks. The studies address questions related to the international sale of shark meat, the availability of data for assessing the status of the stocks of three pelagic shark species, the mortality rates of sharks caught in various New Zealand fisheries, and a proposed indicator-based analysis of the status of 14 selected chondrichthyan populations.
