Download FAR 2014/60 Length and age compositions of recreational landings of kahawai in KAH 1 from January to April in 2011 and 2012

This report documents a further two years of recreational catch sampling from KAH 1, which took place during the first 4 months of 2011 and 2012. Trends in length and age distributions from East Northland, the Hauraki Gulf and the Bay of Plenty are broadly consistent with those seen in the existing 8 year time series lasting from 2001 to 2008. A time series of total mortality estimates suggests that overall rates of mortality have declined in recent years and are at acceptable levels.
