Previous anecdotal evidence suggests that the use of Feratox® pellets in strikers for wallaby control produces highly variable mortality rates. It has been speculated that the cause may be due to low palatability of the pellet due to its hardness or unfamiliar shape and size resulting in a sub-lethal dose and/or increased bait/toxin aversion. This research explores ways to improve Feratox® acceptance as well as testing the effectiveness of Cyanara50® paste formulation in a Ferafeed striker as an alternative to Feratox®.
