Australian Amendment no. 245, 246, 247 and 248. These amendments are set out below:
Resulting from A1318, Amendment No. 245 amends schedules 3 and 18 to:
· Permit the use of new enzyme processing aids derived from genetically modified E. coli BL21, to produce the steviol glycoside rebaudioside M.
Resulting from A1288, Amendment No. 246 amends schedule 18 to:
· Permit the use of enzyme processing aid thermolysin from Anoxybacillus caldiproteolyticus Rokko.
Resulting from A1333, Amendment No. 247 amends schedule 26 to:
· Permit food derived from a genetically modified (GM) Purple Tomato.
Resulting from A1292, A1293, and A1328, Amendment No. 248 amends schedule 18 to:
· Permit phospholipase C from genetically modified Bacillus licheniformis as a processing aid in degumming of fats and oils.
· Permit phosphoinositide phospholipase C (PLC) from genetically modified Bacillus licheniformis as a processing aid in degumming of fats and oils.
· Permit aminopeptidase Y from a genetically modified strain of Trichoderma reesei as a processing aid in protein and yeast processing, as well as flavour production.
