This report documents the 2025 stock assessment of red rock lobsters in CRA 2. The stock model was fitted to standardised catch-per-unit-effort indices, length frequency data, proportion male data, and tag-recapture growth increment data. Modelling was done using a new lobster stock assessment software called decamod coded in RTMB. This stock assessment estimated generally increasing catch removals as a percentage of the population from 1979 to 2016. Catch cuts and a period of improved recruitment have helped the stock rebuild since the 2017 and 2022 stock assessments.
