An assessment of hake in the Sub-Antarctic section of HAK 1 is presented for the 2014–15 fishing year. Stock status is not well known in absolute terms. The stock has declined throughout the 1990s, with the decline driven by poor recruitment rather than fishing pressure. However, there are probably no current sustainability issues. The spawning stock is estimated to be about 60% B0, with a B0 of about 59 000 t. The stock is probably being well monitored by the November-December trawl survey.
