Three options for certification
If you're exporting organic products to Japan, you have 3 options for certification:
- Option 1: Certification and export under the Official Organic Assurance Programme. This covers plant products and processed foods of plant origin only.
- Option 2: Certification and export through “Accredited Certification Bodies (Organic products (overseas))” (that is: an overseas organic certification body registered by Japan MAFF).
- Option 3: Certification and export through “Accredited Certification Bodies (Organic products (domestic))” (that is: an Japanese organic certification body registered by Japan MAFF).
