Note that the codes for dairy maintenance compounds are being phased in, so conditions of use on the official approval record may differ. The conditions of use on the official approval record must be followed.

Type Intended use  Description
Non-dairy C 11 Lubricant or Solvent 1. This can be used in food or edible areas, provided it does not come in contact with food or edible product or food contact packaging material.
2. If incidental contact with a food contact surface occurs, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with suitable water to ensure that no residue remains.
This is also approved for C 13 applications. 
Non-dairy C 12 Lubricant or Solvent 1. This can be used in food or edible areas.
2. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
3. No food or edible product is permitted in the room while odours remain.
4. If incidental contact with a food contact surface occurs, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with suitable water to ensure that no residue remains. 
Non-dairy C 13 Lubricant or Solvent (use in enclosed housings only) 1. This lubricant can be used in food or edible areas but must be confined in enclosed housings.
2. The recognised verifier must be informed if there is any leakage.
3. If incidental contact with a food contact surface occurs, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with suitable water to ensure that no residue remains.
This is also approved for C 14 applications. 
Non-dairy C 14 Lubricant or Solvent (not for use in food areas) 1. This cannot be used in food or edible areas. 
Non-dairy C 15 Lubricant or Solvent 1. This can be used during processing of food to lubricate moving parts of equipment when the lubricated surface is either an integral part of the food contact surface, or where contamination could result from bearing seal leakage.
2. The amount used should be the minimum required to accomplish the technical effect.
3. The equipment must be maintained, including the application of lubricants, according to the specifications of the equipment manufacturer.
4. The lubricated surface must be maintained according to requirements for sanitation of food contact surfaces. Where necessary the relevant parts of the equipment must be dismantled to inspect the adequacy of cleaning.
5. If incidental contact with a food contact surface occurs, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with suitable water to ensure that no residue remains that could be transferred to food or edible product.
This is also approved for C 11 and C 13 applications. 
Non-dairy C 21 Surface Treatment 1. This can be used in food or edible areas provided it does not come in contact with food or edible product or food contact packaging material.
2. If incidental contact with a food contact surface occurs, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with suitable water to ensure that no residue remains. 
Non-dairy C 22 Surface Treatment 1. This can be used in food or edible areas.
2. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
3. No food or edible product is permitted in the room while odours remain.
4. If incidental contact with a food contact surface occurs, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with suitable water to ensure that no residue remains. 
Non-dairy C 23 Surface Treatment 1. This can be used in food or edible areas.
2. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
3. No food or edible product is permitted in the room until all treated surfaces have been adequately protected with an approved coating.
4. If incidental contact with a food contact surface occurs, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with suitable water to ensure that no residue remains.
This is also approved for C 25 applications. 
Non-dairy C 24 Stock Marking 1. This can be used for marking animals.
2. It can only be used in stockyards.
3. It must not be used in a manner likely to contaminate the carcass during dressing. 
Non-dairy C 25 Surface Treatment (not for use in food areas) 1. This cannot be used in food or edible areas. 
Non-dairy C 26 Surface Treatment (release agent or anti-rust film) 1. This can be used on food contact surfaces as a release agent or as an anti-rust film.
2. The amount used should be the minimum required to accomplish the technical effect.
3. After application, the surface must be wiped or adequately drained to ensure that no residue remains that could be transferred to food being processed.
This is also approved for C 22 applications. 
Non-dairy C 27 Stock Wash 1. This can be used for washing stock prior to slaughter.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions, at a concentration not exceeding that recommended by the manufacturer.
3. Stock must be washed in clean water after application and before slaughter. 
Non-dairy C 28 Stock Wash 1. This can be used for washing stock prior to slaughter.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions, at a concentration not exceeding that recommended by the manufacturer.
3. There is no requirement to rinse stock after application and before slaughter, provided moisture cannot be expressed when the wool at the opening-up areas is firmly squeezed.
4. When used in all other circumstances, stock must be washed in clean water after application and before slaughter. 
Non-dairy C 31 Cleaner (including cleaner sanitisers) 1. This can be used in all areas.
2. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room, unless the room can be divided into distinct areas. No food or edible product or food contact packaging material can be present in the distinct area being cleaned. There must be no possibility of contamination of product or packaging material as a result of cleaning.
3. After use, food contact surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water before production starts.
This is also approved for C 32 and C 34 applications. 
Non-dairy C 32 Cleaner (not for use in food areas) 1. This cannot be used in food or edible areas.
2. The perfume must not be used to mask the odours of unsanitary conditions.
3. This must be used in a manner that prevents the perfume invading any food or edible area. 
Non-dairy C 33 Laundry Compound 1. This can only be used as a laundry compound.
2. If treated fabric could directly or indirectly come into contact with food or edible product, a thorough rinse with suitable water must follow the laundering process. 
Non-dairy C 34 Cleaner (not for use in food areas) 1. This cannot be used in food or edible areas.
2. After use, the cleaned equipment or utensils must be rinsed with suitable water before being returned to food or edible areas. 
Non-dairy C 35 Window Cleaner 1. This can be used as a window cleaner in all areas.
2. No food or edible product is permitted in the room during cleaning.
3. If incidental contact with a food contact surface occurs, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with suitable water to ensure that no residue remains. 
Non-dairy C 36 Cleaner (not for use in food areas) 1. This cannot be used in food or edible areas. 
Non-dairy C 37 Cleaner (not for food contact surfaces) 1. This is a general purpose cleaner that can be used on floors and walls but must not be used on food contact surfaces.
2. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
3. If incidental contact with a food contact surface occurs, the surface must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water to ensure that no residue remains. 
Non-dairy C 38 Cleaner (dishwashing rinse aid) 1. This can only be used as a rinse aid in automatic dishwashers.
2. This must always be used according to the manufacturer’s directions and the instructions for the automatic dishwasher. 
Non-dairy C 39 Cleaner (for poultry facilities and egg equipment) 1. This can be used for cleaning and disinfection of poultry facilities and equipment used in the production and processing of eggs for human consumption.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
3. Poultry and eggs must not be present in the area when cleaning and disinfection is carried out. 
Non-dairy C 41 Sanitiser 1. This can be used in all areas.
2. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room or carefully protected.
3. After use, food contact surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water before production starts.
4. This must always be used at the dilutions recommended by the manufacturer. 
Non-dairy C 42 Sanitiser 1. This can be used for sanitising of large processing rooms provided all food or edible product and food contact packaging material is removed from the room before use, unless the room can be divided into distinct areas. No food or edible product or food contact packaging material can be present in the area during use. There must be no possibility of contamination of product or packaging material as a result of use.
2. When used on clean hard surfaces, a rinse with suitable water is not required.
3. Food contact surfaces must be thoroughly drained to minimise residues before production starts.
4. On non-food contact surfaces, such as floors, walls and ceilings, higher concentrations may be required to control microbial growth. This is allowed, provided there is no risk of product contamination.
5. Where these conditions cannot be met, a suitable water rinse is required.
6. This must always be used at the dilutions recommended by the manufacturer. 
Non-dairy C 43 Sanitiser 1. This can be used as a sanitiser on clean hard surfaces.
2. Before use in any premises, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room or carefully protected.
3. After use in premises that only process fish, a rinse with suitable water is not required, but food contact surfaces must be thoroughly drained to minimise residues.
4. After use in other premises, food contact surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water before production starts.
5. This must always be used at the dilutions recommended by the manufacturer.
This is also approved for C 41 applications. 
Non-dairy C 44 Sanitiser 1. This can be used in all areas.
2. When used for sanitising quality control equipment, the equipment must be allowed to dry prior to contacting product.
3. When used as a sanitiser in other circumstances, food contact surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water before production starts.
4. It must be used at a sufficient distance from all food or edible product and food contact packaging material to ensure that there is no possibility of contamination of product or packaging material as a result of use. 
Non-dairy C 51 Hand Cleaner Sanitiser (rinse after use) 1. This can be used for hand washing and sanitising in all areas.
2. After application, hands must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water.
3. There must be no odour left on the hands.
This is also approved for C 52 and C 56 applications. 
Non-dairy C 52 Topical Preparation (for use in stores but not other food areas) 1. This can be used as a barrier cream, dermatological cream, hand cleaner or body wash, as appropriate.
2. This can be used in areas where food and edible product or packaging is stored, but it cannot be used in other food or edible areas. 
Non-dairy C 53 Barrier Cream (casings preparation only) 1. This can be used as a barrier cream and is restricted to use by operators who are employed in the preparation of casings, and whose hands are constantly in water.
2. The compound must be supplied from a fixed dispenser located in locker rooms or amenities.
3. After application, the hands must be washed before the operator enters any other processing area. 
Non-dairy C 54 Hand Sanitiser (no-rinse) 1. This can be used for hand sanitising in all areas.
2. This must be supplied from a fixed, metered dispenser located a sufficient distance from the processing area to prevent product contamination.
3. Before application, hands must be clean. This includes washing the hands where necessary.
4. After application, the hands need not be rinsed but must be dry before the operator returns to the processing line. 
Non-dairy C 55 Topical Preparation 1. This can be used as a special purpose skin compound by personnel in food or edible areas, provided the treated skin is fully protected by an impervious covering at all times during processing.
2. This must be supplied from a fixed dispenser located in locker rooms or amenities. 
Non-dairy C 56 Hand Cleaner (rinse after use) 1. This can be used for hand washing in all areas.
2. After application, the hands must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water.
3. There must be no odour left on the hands.
This is also approved for C 52 applications. 
Non-dairy C 61 Water Treatment Product (for suitable water) 1. This can be used to treat water so it is suitable.
2. The final concentration of the active element, at the point of use, must meet the requirements of Part C1 Subpart 4: Water of the Animal Products Notice: Production, Supply and Processing. 
Non-dairy C 62 Water Treatment Product (no product contact) 1. This can be added to the water within boilers, steam lines and/or cooling systems.
2. The treated water must not be used in food or edible areas, or used in a manner that could contaminate food or edible product or stock drinking water.
3. Steam produced from the treated water must not be used in food or edible processes or come in contact with food or edible product. 
Non-dairy C 63 Water Treatment Product (steam may contact product) 1. This can be added to the water used within boilers and steam lines, where the steam produced may contact food or edible product.
This is also approved for C 62 applications. 
Non-dairy C 64 Sewer or Drain Treatment 1. This can be used for treating sewer or drain lines in any area.
2. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
3. After use in food or edible areas, the drains must be thoroughly flushed before production starts.
4. Solids recovered from wastewater must not be used in the production of animal foods. 
Non-dairy C 66 Effluent and Waste Treatment 1. This can be used in effluent treatment and waste streams where solid wastes are processed through solids recovery systems for use in animal feeds. 
Non-dairy C 81 For use on Packaging (product contact) 1. This product is for use on packaging only and can come into contact with food or edible product.
2. The amount used must not be greater than is required to accomplish the desired physical or technical effect. 
Non-dairy C 82 Packaging Adhesive or Sealant (no product contact) 1. This product is for use on packaging only and must not come into contact with food or edible product. 
Non-dairy C 83 Packaging Sachet 1. This can be included with packaged meat as part of the packaging system.
2. The sachet must remain intact and none of the contents can come in contact with meat. 
Non-dairy Type A Insecticide (space spray or aerosol) 1. This insecticide can be used in all areas.
2. This can only be used in food or edible areas as a space spray.
3. Before use, all food or edible product (except canned product) and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
4. After use, the room must be adequately ventilated and food contact surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water before production starts or items are returned to the room.
This is also approved for Type B applications. 
Non-dairy Type A-1 Insecticide This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This insecticide can be used in all areas.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
3. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room, or isolated or covered.
4. Production areas must be out of service during use and well-ventilated after use.
5. After use, food contact surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with suitable water before production starts.
6. This can only be used in manufacturing environments in accordance with a pest control programme that has been documented to relevant MPI legislation. 
Non-dairy Type B Insecticide (not for use in food areas) 1. This insecticide cannot be used in food or edible areas or any area where food or edible product or food contact packaging material is stored.
2. This must be used in a manner that prevents the entry of the insecticide into food or edible areas. 
Non-dairy Type C Pesticide 1. This pesticide can only be used in accordance with a pest control programme that has been documented to relevant MPI legislation.
2. This can be used in food or edible areas provided there is no exposed food or edible product or ingredients present in the room.
3. This must be removed from food or edible areas before production starts. 
Non-dairy Type D Pesticide or Pest Control 1. This pesticide must be used strictly in accordance with the special conditions contained in the approval letter.
2. The operator must have access to a copy of this approval letter containing the product’s individual approval criteria.
3. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy Type D-1 Pesticide This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This product does not contain a pesticide and can be used in accordance with a pest control programme that has been documented to relevant MPI legislation, provided its use does not create a nuisance.
2. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy Type D-10 Pesticide Consolidated to Type D-9 - no change to conditions. 
Non-dairy Type D-14 Pesticide This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used in food or edible areas.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
3. Before use, all unpackaged all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
4. After use, the room must be thoroughly cleaned before production starts.
5. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy Type D-16 Pesticide Consolidated to Type D-1 - no change to conditions. 
Non-dairy Type D-18 Pesticide Consolidated to Type D-14 - no change to conditions. 
Non-dairy Type D-2 Pesticide Consolidated to Type D-9 - no change to conditions.

Non-dairy Type D-24 Pesticide This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:

Non-dairy Type D-25 Pesticide Consolidated to Type D-24 - no change to conditions.

Non-dairy Type D-3 Pesticide (for external areas only) This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
2. The product must be kept away from food premises and pets. 
Non-dairy Type D-30 Pesticide (for ants) This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used in cracks and crevices or in a bait station as an ant pesticide in accordance with a pest control programme that has been documented to relevant MPI legislation, provided its use does not create a nuisance.
2. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy Type D-32 Pesticide (for cockroaches and ants) This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used directly in cracks and crevices to control cockroaches and ants.
2. This can be used in food or edible areas.
3. Before use, all unpackaged food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
4. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy Type D-34 Pesticide (for mosquitoes) This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used directly in standing water bodies only to destroy mosquito colonies.
2. This can be used in food or edible areas.
3. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
4. Before use, all unpackaged food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
5. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy Type D-35 Pesticide Consolidated to Type D-14 - no change to conditions.

2. The amount used shall not be greater than is required to accomplish the desired physical or technical effect.
3. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-03 Dust Suppressant This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This cannot be used in food or edible areas.
2. This product can only be used to suppress the dust on roads and unpaved areas.
3. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions. 
Non-dairy C 101-07 Topical Preparation This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This barrier cream can be used in all areas.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
3. After use, hands need not be rinsed but must be dry before the operator returns to the processing line. 
Non-dairy C 101-08 Microbial Inhibitor This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can only be used for microbial inhibition in feed and feed ingredients.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
3. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-09 Surface Treatment This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This surface coating can be used in all areas.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
3. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
4. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request.

Non-dairy C 101-24 Cleaner This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can only be used on refrigeration systems in all areas.
2. Before use, all unpackaged food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room.
3. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-28 Microbial Inhibitor This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can only be used for microbial inhibition in fully processed by-products.
2. The rate of addition must not exceed the equivalent of 0. 25% of a 37% solution of formalin.
3. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-30 Sanitiser This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used in food or edible areas as a sanitiser.
2. After use, food contact surfaces must be rinsed with thoroughly suitable water before production starts.
3. Hands must be washed properly before returning to the food or edible areas. 
Non-dairy C 101-33 Cleaner or Sanitiser This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This must be used in a manner that prevents direct or indirect contamination of products.
2. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-46 Sanitiser This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used for sanitising chicken housing.
2. Before use, all chickens must be removed.
3. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-47 Cleaner Consolidated to C 101-24 - no change to conditions.

Non-dairy C 101-49 Sanitiser This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can only be used for ion exchange maintenance.

Non-dairy C 101-52 Microbial Inhibitor (packaging) 1. This product cannot be used when the packaging material is open.
2. This can only be used for disinfecting the outer packaging of fully packaged foodstuffs once loaded in a shipping container or ready for shipping.
3. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions. 
Non-dairy C 101-53 Microbial Inhibitor This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can only be used for microbial inhibition in fully processed by-products.

4. No food or edible product is permitted in the room while odours remain.

Non-dairy C 101-87 Sanitiser This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used in food or edible areas as a no-rinse sanitiser on clean hard surfaces.
2. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room or carefully protected.
3. After use, a rinse with suitable water is not required but food contact surfaces must be thoroughly drained and dried to minimise residues before production starts. 
Non-dairy C 101-89 Cleaner Sanitiser This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can only be used on refrigeration systems in all areas.
2. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room during application of the compound to the evaporators.
3. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-91 Cleaner This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used in all areas.
2. This can only be used to clean lenses and screens.
3. This must be used in a manner that prevents direct or indirect contamination of products or packaging.
4. When incidental contact with food contact surface occurs, the surface must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water to ensure that no residue remains.
5. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-92 CIP Coverage Indicator This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used in all areas.
2. This must only be used to visualise CIP coverage in accordance with best practice directions.
3. After use, food contact surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water before production starts.
4. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-94 Sanitiser This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This product can be used in all areas.
2. This must be used in accordance with manufacturer's directions.
3. The sachet and its content must not come into contact with food or food contact surfaces.
4. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-95 Bird Repellent This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This cannot be used in food or edible areas.
2. This must be used in accordance with manufacturer’s directions.
3. Only protected handlers can be in the area during application. 
Non-dairy C 101-96 Microbial Inhibitor This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This product can be used in all areas.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
3. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 101-97 Microbial Inhibitor Consolidated to C 101-08 - no change to conditions. 
Non-dairy C 101-98 Cleaner Sanitiser This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used in all areas.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
3. Before use, all food or edible product and food contact packaging material must be removed from the room or carefully protected.
4. After use, food contact surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with suitable water before production starts. 
Non-dairy C 101-99 De-Icer This must be used in accordance with the following special conditions:
1. This can be used on floors and walls in frozen areas.
2. After use, a suitable water rinse is not required provided that the solution and solubilised soil are effectively removed by wiping or wet vacuuming.
3. This must be used in a manner that prevents direct or indirect contamination of products or packaging.
4. A copy of the approval letter must be available to the animal products officer or recognised verifier upon request. 
Non-dairy C 102 Air Freshener or Deodoriser 1. This cannot be used in food or edible areas.
2. It can be used in external areas and areas where product not intended for human or animal consumption is processed, packaged or stored.
3. This must not be used to mask the odours of unsanitary conditions.
4. This must be used in a manner that prevents any perfume invading a food or edible area. 
Non-dairy C 103 Egg Wash 1. This can be used for washing whole shell eggs.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
3. Where eggs are intended for sale in the whole shell, the eggs must be subject to a warm water rinse after the cleaning step. This rinse must be with suitable water or a C 104 approved sanitiser solution. 
Non-dairy C 104 Egg Sanitiser 1. This can be used for sanitising whole shell eggs.
2. This must be used according to the manufacturer’s directions.
