Clear imagery helps us assess your yacht's hull
We often get asked what type of photos or videos we need to help us assess whether a yacht has a clean hull. On this page are some video links and photos you can use as good examples of the types of evidence we need.
The videos and photos provided were taken by the owners of a yacht, who carried out the inspection themselves. Not every part of the hull or niche areas is shown in the photos, but the missing areas were clearly shown in some videos they also submitted.
Clean hull example videos
The videos were slow-paced and showed all areas, often from multiple angles. Particular attention was shown to areas where damage or wear to the paint may be mistakenly identified as fouling.
Clean hull example photos
These photos are good examples because the clear water and good lighting made it easy to assess the cleanliness of the hull and niche areas.
While these photos are good, not every photo is perfect, and we don't expect perfection. There is no set template for how the evidence needs to be provided, but it needs to clearly show that the entire hull and niche areas are clean. Each vessel is different and may not look like the photos in these examples. The colour of the hull, clarity of water, and lighting could make some vessels more difficult to get clear images of the hull.
