Managing the approval and registration of ACVM products
The registration and approval of agricultural compounds and veterinary medicines ensures that any risks to food safety, trade, animal welfare, plant safety, and biosecurity are managed. That’s why products like veterinary medicines, crop protection products, vertebrate toxic agents, animal feeds, fertilisers, and environmental inhibitors must be authorised under the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 and regulations. The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) administers the act.
Reporting monthly on applications and approvals
All applications are carefully assessed while ensuring they are processed in a timely manner. We will be reporting monthly on the number and types of applications:
- we have approved
- that are in the process of being appraised
- that are waiting appraisal.
