Changes to animal products regulations
The redesigned Animal Products Regulations 2021 came into effect on 1 July 2022.

What the new regulations replaced
These new regulations replaced:
- Animal Product Regulations 2000
- Animal Products (Dairy) Regulations 2005
- Animal Products (Risk Management Programme Registration – Required Part) Regulations 2020
- Animal Products (Exemptions and Inclusions) Order 2000
- Animal Product (Regulated Control Scheme – Contaminant Monitoring and Surveillance) Regulations 2004
- Dairy Industry (National Residue Monitoring Programme) Regulations 2002
Regulations need to be read together with animal product notices.
Changes to animal product notices
On 1 July 2022, several animal product notices (identified in Schedule 1 of the Animal Products Regulations 2021) expired. The expired notices were replaced by new animal product notices. They came into effect at the same time as the regulation on 1 July 2022.
